Applying to an agency? Some agencies accept phone photos, but others explicitly don’t. If yours is one of them, or you want to be sure the set is complete and your skin colour is accurate, this package is for you.

I shoot model tests and digitals in Warsaw, for models and actors at every stage of their career. Sessions run in Polish or English. I also travel to Krakow, Wroclaw, Poznan, Lodz, the Tricity area and Silesia.

In Warsaw I usually shoot tests at Studio Ryś or PLAN Studio, in the same building in Mokotów, with parking on site. See where else we can shoot →

What are digitals and polaroids?

Digitals (also called polaroids) are the standard set of agency photos. Their purpose is to show you: without filters, retouching or makeup. The agency wants to see your natural features, skin quality, body proportions, and skin tone.

Agencies that ask for these photos in their applications include AS Management, Avant, Model Plus, Neva, Specto, United For Models, Vanilla and 8fi. Others, such as D’Vision, Rebel and Mango, simply ask for photos without detailed requirements. Digitals from the session work there too.

How to take polaroids, what each agency asks for and when a phone will do: see my guide Model Polaroids.

What are modelling tests?

Tests, or test shoots, are photos for your book, that is a model’s portfolio. Unlike digitals, they are posed, styled and lightly retouched. The styling stays in the background, though: in tests what counts is the posing, not the clothes or fancy lighting. The agency wants to see how you come across in a shoot. The Tests and Extended Tests packages cover both: you leave with digitals, a comp card and photos for your book.

Digitals for acting agencies

Digitals for a modelling agency are purely technical: clean background, soft light, neutral expression. Acting agencies also want photos with no retouching and no filters, but the posing is looser and more natural. A few shots: face, half-body, full length. An acting agency wants to see your personality and expression, not a trained model pose. We also shoot a few mood variations, because the point is to show a range of emotion, not one rehearsed face.

No experience? You don’t need any to start. I’ll help you show yourself and tell you what looks good from the camera’s side.

What does the shoot look like?

1. Contact. You write through the form and tell me which agencies you’re applying to. Different agencies may ask for different shots, so we check their requirements before the shoot. A deposit, deducted from the price, books the date.

2. The shoot, in the studio. Digitals take about 30 minutes of shooting, Tests about 80, Extended Tests about 120. There’s a monitor on set: every so often we look at the photos on it and make corrections.

3. The photos. You get your digitals within 48 h of the shoot, and the comp card within 48 h of sending your measurements. For tests, the selection material arrives within 7 days and the retouched photos 14 days after you choose.

Under 18? Ask your parent or guardian to get in touch with me before booking. I need their written consent, and they stay with you from start to finish. The rules are in my child protection standards (in Polish).

Included: comp card

Every model who comes to me for digitals gets a comp card as part of the package: a model’s business card with a few photos and the basic measurements on a single card. I make it in four versions: a classic double-sided card to take to an agency, a landscape card with every photo, a vertical 9:16 card for social media and a video comp card for Instagram or TikTok. All four are shown in the post What Is a Comp Card?.

Vertical 9:16 comp card: four digitals (face, half-body, full length from the front and in profile) with name, Instagram handle and measurements

See all four comp card versions →

I crop every digital from the shoot the same way: eyes at the same height, feet in the same spot. That’s why in the video comp card one photo flows into the next without jumps.

How to prepare

The shoot takes place in a studio: soft, even light with no harsh shadows, clean white or light background. Conditions are constant and controlled, so the agency sees you, not lighting effects.

Clothing

  • Arrive in loose, non-marking clothes and seamless underwear. For bikini/underwear shots we don't retouch pressure marks, so avoid anything that leaves them, including hair ties worn on the wrist
  • Digitals: black fitted jeans or leggings + black top, or blue jeans + white top. Two sets, we'll see which photographs better
  • Tests: your own choice of outfits. The agency wants to see your figure and how you pose, so nothing oversized or baggy
  • Men: fitted jeans + white or black T-shirt
  • Underwear or swimwear for figure shots (optional)
  • Simple cuts, no prints or patterns

Makeup & hair

  • Ideally no makeup at all, at most a dab of concealer on something you don't usually have. You show the natural you: a canvas for the team on set to work with
  • Clean, well-groomed hair. Come with it down and bring a hairband
  • Natural, untinted brows
  • Nails bare or in a neutral colour

What to bring

  • Check the requirements of the agency you're applying to, and let me know before the shoot. Different agencies may require different shots
  • Several outfits (according to your package)
  • Shoes for full-length shots: nude or black heels, or white sneakers
  • Hairbrush, hair ties and clips

Minors

  • Written consent from a legal guardian is required
  • A parent or legal guardian stays with you for the whole shoot (child protection standards, in Polish)
  • Send me your age before booking so I can send you the consent form

FAQ

Digitals package: 20 unretouched digitals, the full agency set: face, half-body and full length from every side. Tests and Extended Tests packages: everything from the Digitals package plus 10 or 20 retouched high-resolution photos. Files delivered via an online gallery link.

No. Most models I work with are beginners or early in their career. I'll help you show yourself and tell you what an agency looks for in test photos. I'll also tell you what looks good from the camera's side.

Yes. The name “polaroids” (polas) comes from the days when agencies photographed new faces with a Polaroid camera. Today the same shots are taken on a digital camera, so the industry increasingly calls them digitals. Agencies use both names interchangeably: simple, natural, unretouched photos of your face, half-body and full length.

Agencies want to see you, not makeup effects or filters. Polaroids and digitals should show your natural facial features, body proportions, and skin tone. That means minimal styling, soft, even light, and a clean background. No heavy retouching or filters that alter your features.

Ideally yes. Agencies assess natural features, and heavy lashes can draw attention and throw off how your facial proportions read. If you wear subtle 1:1 extensions (natural-looking), we can leave them. The final call is yours, but I'll give you my honest read on what I think works better in specific shots.

For polaroids: simple, fitted clothing in neutral colors (black, white, grey), if you want body-proportion shots, underwear or swimwear (if you're under 18: swimwear yes, underwear no). Ideally no makeup, at most a dab of concealer on something you don't usually have. For test sessions: additional outfits according to a brief agreed beforehand. You'll find a detailed list in the session preparation guide.

Digitals (unretouched) arrive within 48 hours of the session. You get the material to choose from within 7 days, you have 14 days to make your selection, and editing takes 14 days from that. The gallery stays open for 30 days. If you need it faster, there is a rush option: edited within 72 h of your selection, 30 PLN per photo, schedule permitting.

Digitals for a modelling agency are purely technical: clean background, soft light, neutral expression. The agency is assessing features, proportions, and photogenicity. For acting agencies the photos are also unretouched and unfiltered, but the posing is looser. We shoot a few mood variations, because the point is to show a range of emotion, not one rehearsed face. Acting agencies want to see your personality, not a trained model pose.

The set covers: face front, profile left and right, face with smile, half-body, full length front, side, and back. Plus variations: hair up and down, and if you want, swimwear or underwear shots (under 18: swimwear yes, underwear no; 8fi asks for swimsuit photos in the application itself). The exact number of shots depends on the package and agency requirements. The Digitals package includes 20 digitals. Agencies such as AS Management, Model Plus and 8fi ask for similar shots in their applications.

No. Underwear or swimwear shots are optional and we only take them if you want to. Some agencies ask for them in the application (8fi, for example, wants swimsuit photos), so you can add them if that's the agency you're aiming for. If you're under 18, we shoot swimwear as usual, but not underwear.

Yes. Written consent from a parent or legal guardian is required before the shoot, and I arrange the details with them. You stay in their care for the whole shoot: the parent or guardian is present from start to finish. The rules are in my child protection standards (in Polish). Ask your parent to get in touch with me before booking.

Yes, a companion is welcome, especially if it's your first shoot. If you're 18 or older, it's there for your comfort: they can come, but don't have to. If you're under 18, a parent or guardian must be present for the whole shoot. I just ask that they cheer from the sidelines: the fewer distractions during posing, the better the photos for everyone.

Yes. Warsaw is my base, but I travel. By default I plan trips that fit into a single day: Krakow, Wroclaw, Poznan, Lodz, Lublin, Bialystok, Kielce, Radom, Olsztyn, Czestochowa, the Tricity area (Gdansk, Sopot, Gdynia), and the whole Katowice metropolitan area. Longer trips are possible too. If the shoot needs two days or the place is further out, we price it individually. Travel up to 50 km from my address (shortest road route) is included; beyond that it costs 1.50 PLN per kilometre over that limit (the rate already covers the round trip), and beyond 150 km I price it individually. Your city not on the list? Get in touch — I'll check whether the trip makes sense.

Because the date and the studio are one decision, not two. I don't have my own studio. I rent one for a specific shoot, so until I know what kind of pictures we're making, I don't know which space can carry it or when it's free. A click-to-book calendar would promise availability I can't confirm before we've talked. Get in touch, tell me what you need and roughly when suits you, and I'll come back with a proposed date and place.
